It’s always fun to find unique things to do on New Year’s. Everyone has their traditions, but sometimes it’s nice to mix it up and add to the good time.
This New Year’s Questions Activity is such a fun way to reflect on the past year and look toward the new one.
These questions for the new year will help everyone look back over the year through the eyes of each other. It’s always fun to me to see what other people remember that you may have forgotten.
Outside of reflecting on the past year, this activity for New Year’s Eve also has questions that talk about the upcoming year as well. It’s an easy activity that people of all ages will enjoy.

How do you make this New Year’s Question Activity?
Step 1: Gather your supplies.
You will need:
- Free Printable New Year’s Eve Questions
- Mason Jar (Pint)
- Cardstock
- Scissors
- Paper or Foil Shred (optional)
Step 2: Print out the New Year’s questions.
When you print the New Year’s questions out, they will print like this.
Print them on cardstock for the best results. You could even laminate them to use year after year without wear if you wanted as well.
There will be two pages of questions I chose (28 questions total), and then one sheet of blank questions you can personalize for your family by writing in questions.
Step 3: Cut out the questions.
These New Year’s questions are full of ways to make your group laugh, and think, and reflect on good memories from the past year.
These questions would work for all ages.
Step 4: Fill in your custom questions.
Make some questions JUST for your group or family! Design them around specific holidays, people, or experiences from the last year.
Step 5: Prepare your jar.
I wanted to be able to store this game over and over, and so I designed these questions to fit perfectly in a mason jar (pint size).
You can add some fun colored shredded foil or paper if you want, or keep it plain.
Step 6: Play the game!
Add all the questions to the jar so you can store and play your game.
You can play this game a couple of ways. Or make up your own method of playing and answering questions.
- Round Robin. Take turns passing the jar and letting each person pull a question and read it off and give their answer. You can place the question back in the jar for someone else to answer later, or place them in a discard basket.
- Bingo Style. Have one person in charge of pulling and asking the questions. Then each person will take time to answer the question that was asked.
- Hot Potato. Have music play and have one person in charge of starting and stopping it at random. Players will sit in a circle and pass the jar from person to person like hot potato. When the music stops, the person holding the jar has to pull and answer a question.
