If you’re wanting to find the best tanning lotions, I’ve put together a list of all the best ones out there so you can get the most bang for your buck. These lotions are all meant to be used in conjunctions with an indoor tanning bed.
Everyone has their own preferences for what makes a lotion one of the best tanning lotions or not, so read through the list to see which one of these meets your criteria. Which one of these will you try next?

Before I give you my list of the best tanning lotions, I want to give you some tips so you can get the most out of these.
- Use rubber gloves to apply your lotion before you tan. The palms of your hands hold onto color more than the rest of your body, and I’ve found that even when I clean them with a baby wipe after applying lotion, that I still get kind of an orangey tint if I don’t use the gloves.
- Don’t apply to the palms of your hands or the soles of your feet. For the same reasons listed above, you’ll have bad results if you do this.
- Evenly apply the lotion to keep from getting streaks.
Can I use regular lotion in a tanning bed?
While it’s beneficial to ensure your skin is moist when you tan, which is one of the biggest benefits of using a tanning lotion in the first place, regular lotion isn’t going to really do anything to enhance your tanning experience. Tanning lotions will actually continue working even after you get out of the tanning bed to give you long lasting color.
