If you’re planning a trip to Disney World soon, you’ve probably heard about the new Toy Story Land! Toy Story Land is a new feature for 2018 for Disney World, and Toy Story lovers everywhere are lining up to go and visit!
If you are planning to visit, but want to know what to expect, I’m going to tell you everything you need to know about Disney World’s Toy Story Land before you go. Be prepared so you can enjoy it as much as the rest of the park!
EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT TOY STORY LAND
TOY STORY LAND
Toy Story Land is located inside of Disney World’s Hollywood Studios. This separate section of the park was opened on June 30th, 2018, and is a a big area dedicated justto Toy Story. In Toy Story Land, park visitors can immerse themselves in the world of Toy Story. Huge, oversized characters line the streets and attractions. In typical Disney style, no attention to detail is missed, and little nods to the movies are found in every nook and cranny of Toy Story Land.

If you’ve ever been to any of Walt Disney World’s value resorts, Toy Story Land is full of those giant oversized characters you might find in those resorts. Some people feel like it’s more of a theme park than Disney is typically known for, but if you grew up watching the Toy Story movies like I did, this park is still going to make tears sting your eyes in nostalgia.

RIDES
SLINKY DOG DASH
One of the most popular favorites already is Slinky Dog Dash. If you have little ones, the ride does have a height requirement of 38″ to ride. It’s a little faster than most people expect, and does have some quick turns. Until the hype for this ride dies down, this is one you will want to use your Fast Pass on for sure.
ALIEN SWIRLING SAUCERS
This is very similar to a swirling tea cup ride you could find at a fair or carnival, but it done in an over-the-top Disney style as only they could do. Ride with the aliens in a swirling adventure. Height requirement is 32″ for this ride.
ANDY’S ROOM
Andy’s Room is like a Carnival type section witha 4-D arcade. They’ve tried to keep some areas like you would expect to see in his room and house, and his backyard. The tall grass seems a bit overdone, and kind of lazy on the part of the design team for the backyard, but it’s Disney so you’re going to have a blast anyway.
FOOD
WOODY’S LUNCH BOX
I’m happy to announce that Woody’s Toy Box (which is a restaurant found in Toy Story Land) is quick service, American food! Prices are under $15 a person, and you’ll find plenty of kid-friendly meals to eat here. No A/C, so plan for that. See the menu here.
CHARACTERS
Characters you can see while in Toy Story Land are Woody, Buzz and Jessie. You can also find green Army Men patrolling Toy Story Land as well. Check out Disney’s site here for more info on when you can catch your favorite Toy Story characters for an autograph and picture.
TOY STORY LAND OVERALL REVIEW
All in all, Toy Story land has a couple of rides, a quick service restaurant, no merch store, and no air-conditioned spaces (and it’s Flordia, so it’s always hot), so keep that in mind when you’re planning your visit. It’s definitely worth visiting and is a ton of fun. It’s worth noting that they didn’t have a Toy Story specific merch store here, which I anticipated they would. They’ve upped the amount of Toy Story merch you’ll find in the main merch stores in the rest of the park, so you can snag something there if you want. I think Toy Story Land was a great addition to Hollywood Studios and I’m sure we will enjoy it for years to come!
