Crockpot BBQ Chicken Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs chicken breast
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 yellow onion
  • pickles optional
  • 8 sandwich buns

Instructions

  • Set your crockpot on high and place the chicken breasts into the bottom of the crockpot.
  • Empty one bottle (or two cups of homemade) of barbecue sauce on top of the chicken breasts. Sprinkle in the brown sugar and coarsely chop the onion into chunks and add them on top of the chicken as well.
  • Turn the chicken a few times to coat well.
  • Let them cook on high for four hours, or on low for 6-7 hours.
  • Once the full time has elapsed, use a fork, or metal tongs, and shred the chicken and onions. Mix the sauce, chicken, and onions together well.
  • Serve immediately on large sandwich buns, and top with pickles if desired.
