Ingredients

  • One ripe-ish banana
  • 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter make sure your peanut butter doesn't contain xylitol
  • 1 1/2 cups of oatmeal

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350.
  • Put your oatmeal in a food processor and let it process one minute at a time, until it's a fine "flour-like" consistency.
  • Place the "oatmeal flour" in a bowl and set aside.
  • Slice up the banana and add it and the peanut butter to the food processor.
  • Let it run until it's combined. You may have to use a spoon to scrape the edges of the processor and let it run again.
  • Set aside a couple of tablespoons of the "oatmeal flour".
  • Slowly pour the rest of it into the food processor while it's running with with peanut butter and banana mixture.
  • Sprinkle the reserved "oatmeal flour" onto a dry, flat surface.
  • Roll out your homemade dog treats dough until it's about 1/4" thick.
  • Use a cookie cutter (I used a dog bone shaped cookie cutter) and cut out the homemade dog treats and place them on a greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake them at 350 for 12-15 minutes. Check them at 12 minutes, and if they already look dark, pull them out.
  • Let them cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  • Store in an air-tight container for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Don't use a peanut butter that contains xylitol, as it's harmful to dogs.
  • These will not get crispy, so don't over-bake.
  • Store them in an air-tight container for best results.
