What is a Disney Travel Agent?

A Disney Travel Agent is your own personal planning guide that will help with as little or as much of your Disney vacation as you want. They offer personal, one-on-one service that can’t be found in any group, or chat line, or even an online forum! It’s the absolute best, and I’ll never plan another Disney trip without the help of our wonderful Disney Travel Agent, Jen.

Below I’m going to outline all of the tremendous reasons you should be using a Disney Travel Agent.

1. Disney Travel Agents are free!

Yes! This isn’t a gimmick, your plan won’t cost you extra if you use one, and there’s no hidden anything. They’re a free service, so why not use one? Getting a GOOD Disney Travel Agent is super important. May I recommend our good friend Eva? We’ve known her since college and she’s the nicest human being you’ll ever work with!

It’s kind of like using a realtor to buy a house. It doesn’t cost you anything, and they make money from the company selling the house, but it makes the process so much easier for you by using one. And just think—you’re also helping a local small business owner!

2. You’re already paying for one anyway.

Yep. Anytime you book a Disney vacation package, the fee for the Disney Travel Agent is already built-in. You may as well book with a Disney TA so you can reap the benefits of one, since you’re paying for it anyway.

3. They save you money.

They know when all the sales are happening, when to check for promotions, how to get you the best bang for your buck. Because of this, they know how to get you the best Disney vacation, for the least amount of money.

Our sweet travel agent, Jen, always let me know how our vacation package price compared to new promotions that came out, without me even asking! She was making sure she couldn’t save me money, without me even needing to know a new promotion was available.

4. They save you time.

In addition to money, Disney Travel Agents save you time. So. Much. Time! I cannot begin to tell you how incredible it was to know she was taking care of all the behind-the-scenes information for our trip, while I just happily counted down the days with my kids! It’s an absolutely invaluable service.

5. They keep you on track.

We travel a lot. Because of that, it can be tough to stay on track with planning. And with Disney, there can be a LOT of planning! There are dining reservations to make, schedules to make, special events to book, and more!

Eva made sure to give me a heads up when our dining reservations were going to be open, when payments were due, and more. It was so helpful to know she was taking care of that, so I didn’t have to.

6. They book your dining reservations.

All I had to do was tell her what restaurants we wanted to go to, and on which days, and she did everything else. I didn’t have to stalk the site for openings or pray the restaurant we were super excited about would have a spot available.

She not only booked our reservations for us, but got EVERY single restaurant we wanted to eat at. I was even late getting her my list, and she was still able to get our reservations booked!

7. They can book your transportation.

Sadly, the free Magical Express no longer exists, but a Disney travel agent can help you book with Mears Transportation or a private car service to get you from MCO to your Disney resort. They will also advise you if it’s better to take a Lyft or Uber depending on your time of arrival!

8. They can give you recommendations.

A good Disney Travel Agent can give you suggestions on what to book via Lightning Lane, and what not to. They can give you tips on what to eat, and where. They can help you with special events like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, fireworks cruises, behind-the-scenes tours, etc. If you want multi-day stroller or scooter reservations, or if you need to rent some baby equipment, they can arrange that. They can give you suggestions based on the number of people in your party, and so much more!

9. They have insider information.

Disney Travel Agents know a TON about the parks and resorts. They know how to get around the quickest, how long wait times are, the best time of year to go, when promotions are going to drop, when to expect sales, how to get the most out of your Lightning Lane selections and Dining Credits and so much more.

All of the information online can be overwhelming. Our Disney Travel Agent put it in clear language and answered every single question I had with a smile, no matter how stupid of a question it was.

10. They reduce stress.

Booking our last Disney was the easiest vacation I’ve ever booked. Normally I’m stressed about Lightning Lanes, getting the right dining reservations, and details with the resort etc. Not this time. I had so little stress, I started to wonder if maybe I should be a little stressed because it felt so unnatural – ha!

Every single thing ran smoothly and it was the best Disney trip yet. It’s stressful enough having an entire household to pack and plan for while you’re away, let a Disney Travel Agent do the work!

I ask a LOT of questions, because I like to be prepared. You can’t learn if you don’t ask questions. Our Disney Travel Agent took every single question in stride. She answered every one of them clearly and made sure I understood.

If she didn’t know the answer to what I needed, she would do the research and make phone calls to find out for me. It saved me so much time and effort of searching the internet, or making calls, and hoping I got the right information.

12. They make it fun!

Our sweet Disney Travel Agent sent our family this awesome gift pack as a way to help us count down our Disney vacation! It was full of all kinds of ways to make it fun for my girls. It just kept the excitement of Disney fun, instead of making it stressful.

Anytime I needed something, our Disney Travel Agent got back to me so quickly. She has plenty of other clients, but I felt like the only one! We had one of our rides take too long, and overlap into our dinner reservation. I panicked and reached out to her. She took care of it right away, made us a new reservation, and I didn’t have to lift a finger.

She even made this adorable little book and sent it to us with ALL our vacation info in it. That’s the kind of personal attention that makes having a Disney Travel Agent worth using every single time.
