Sometimes a simple hands-on activity is just what you need to get a conversation started with kids. This Daily Prayers Bible Craft gives little ones something to color, put together, and use as they learn about prayer. With a turn of the wheel, they can reveal a short prayer to read together!
This printable prayer wheel is a sweet activity for Sunday school, a children’s church group, or a quiet afternoon at home. You only need a few supplies, and the finished craft is something kids can keep using after the coloring is done.
Whether you’re helping a child learn their first prayers or looking for an activity to go along with a lesson about talking to God, this is an easy one to have ready.

What Is a Daily Prayer Wheel?
A prayer wheel is a simple paper craft made with two layers. The bottom circle has eight short prayers, and the top circle acts as a cover with an open section that shows one prayer at a time.
A brass fastener holds the two pieces together in the center while allowing them to turn. Kids can rotate the wheel to find a prayer about their family, giving thanks, asking for peace, or another part of everyday life.
The prayers are short enough to read aloud together, making this a helpful starting point for children who aren’t quite sure what to say when they pray. You can also encourage them to add their own words, names, and things they want to talk to God about.

What’s Included in the Printable?
This Daily Prayers Bible Craft comes as a two-page, black-and-white PDF that kids can color themselves.
The first page includes the cover wheel, featuring Jesus holding a Bible, clouds, and the words “Daily Prayers.” You’ll also find a materials list and assembly instructions on this page.
The second page includes the bottom prayer wheel, divided into eight sections. Each section has a short prayer and a matching picture to color.

The prayer themes include:
- Giving thanks for food.
- Asking for protection for yourself and loved ones.
- Praying for healing and strength in your body.
- Asking for love and unity in your family.
- Praising God and giving thanks for His love.
- Asking for strength when you feel weak.
- Giving thanks for blessings.
- Asking for a calm heart and peace.
Having several different prayers on one wheel gives kids a chance to think about the many things they can include in their prayers.
Supplies You’ll Need
You won’t need a big pile of craft supplies for this one! Gather the following before you get started:
- Daily Prayers Bible Craft printable (download this below)
- White cardstock.
- Markers, crayons, or colored pencils.
- Scissors.
- One brass paper fastener, sometimes called a brad.
Cardstock is a good choice because it helps the wheel hold its shape as kids turn it. Crayons or colored pencils work especially well around the prayer words, keeping everything easy to read.
Younger children will need a little help with cutting and attaching the fastener.
How to Make the Daily Prayers Bible Craft
1. Print the Template
Print both pages of the PDF onto white cardstock. Use the same print settings for both pages so the cover and prayer wheel fit together properly.
If you’re making this with a group, each child will need both pages and one brass fastener.
2. Color Both Wheel Pieces
Let kids color the cover and the pictures on the prayer wheel before cutting anything out. It’s much easier to color while the pieces are still part of a full sheet of cardstock!
They can choose their own colors for the cover, then work their way around the smaller pictures on the bottom wheel. As they color, read a few of the prayers together and talk about what the pictures represent.
3. Cut Out the Wheels
Cut around the outside edge of the bottom prayer wheel, keeping the whole circle in one piece. The lines between the prayers divide the sections, so don’t cut along those lines.
Next, cut out the cover wheel. Follow its outline, including the two straight edges that form the wedge-shaped opening. This opening is what allows a prayer to show through when the craft is assembled.
4. Line Up the Two Pieces
Place the cover wheel on top of the prayer wheel with both printed sides facing up.
Line up the centers so the opening in the cover reveals one section of the bottom wheel. The center of the bottom wheel is where all eight section lines meet. On the cover, it’s the point where the two straight edges of the opening meet.
5. Add the Brass Fastener
Have an adult carefully make a small hole through the center of both pieces. Insert the brass fastener from the front, then spread its two tabs apart at the back to hold everything together.
Leave a little room for movement instead of pressing the fastener too tightly against the cardstock.
6. Turn the Wheel
Gently turn one layer while holding the other still to reveal the different prayers.
If the wheel feels difficult to turn, loosen the fastener slightly. Your daily prayer wheel is ready to use!
Ways to Use Your Prayer Wheel
The nice thing about this craft is that kids can keep reaching for it throughout the week. Here are a few easy ways to make it part of your day.
Start the morning with a prayer. Let your child choose a section before school or before beginning your homeschool activities. Read it together and talk about anything they’d like to add.
Use it before a meal. Find the prayer about giving thanks for food and say it together before eating.
Keep it nearby at bedtime. Choose a prayer, then invite your child to share something they’re thankful for or someone they’d like to pray for.
Pair it with a Sunday school lesson. Make the wheels after a conversation about prayer, then let each child choose a prayer to read or repeat with you.
Add personal details. After reading the family prayer, children could name the people in their family. After the gratitude prayer, they could share one good thing from their day.
There’s no need to work through all eight prayers at once. One short prayer and a little conversation can be plenty.
Making This Craft With Different Ages
For preschoolers and younger children, you can cut out the pieces ahead of time and let them focus on coloring. An adult can assemble the wheel and read each prayer aloud while the child follows along with the pictures.
Older children can take on more of the cutting and assembly. Invite them to read the prayers independently and think about situations when they might choose each one.
Along with introducing a prayer routine, this activity gives kids practice with coloring, cutting, following directions, and coordinating their hands as they turn the wheel.
