DIY Scratch Off Valentines Printable

Remember playing with Etch a Sketch? I always tried to write messages on them for my siblings to find, but my patience was non-existent, so I never finished what I wanted to say.

These scratch-off Valentines turned out so cute, and I love how easy they are to personalize. Works for any age and writing level too!

Step 1: Gather your supplies.

You will need:

• Free Printable Scratch Off Valentine Template Sheet (download below)
• Scratch Off Sticker Paper
• Pen
• Scissors
• Marker
• Cardstock Paper

Step 2: Print off the Scratch-Off Valentines template.

When you print off the Scratch Off Valentines template, this is what they will look like.

They print six-to-a-page, so keep that in mind when you’re planning out how many you’ll need to hand out.

Pro Tip: Print these out on cardstock paper. You can find it easily on Amazon, or even at Walmart in the stationery section. Regular paper won’t hold up to the scratch off well.

Step 3: Write in your message.

After you cut out your little Scratch Off Valentines, it’s time to personalize the messages!

Use a dark ink pen (red, blue, or black works well) to write your Valentine message on the grey area.

Step 4: Attach the scratch-off sticker.

I couldn’t find pre-made scratch-off stickers in the exact size I needed, but it worked out because this scratch-off sticker paper was much cheaper anyway.

The EASIEST way to cut the right shape out of the scratch-off sticker paper is to use one of the Etch-a-Sketch Valentines as a template.

I cut JUST the grey part out, and then traced that shape onto the back of the sticker paper for as many scratch-off stickers as I needed.

Use scissors to cut out the rounded rectangle shapes you traced.

Carefully peel the backing off the scratch-off stickers and line them up with the grey part of the Scratch Off Valentine.

Press and gently rub with your fingers when applying the sticker to keep wrinkles and bubbles from popping up.

When someone uses a coin to scratch off the Valentine, they will see your message, like shown above!

It’s such a fun way for kids to give little messages to their friends.

This would also be a cute way to give Valentine coupons, or surprise discounts for a store around Valentine’s Day!
