I get bored just throwing candy into eggs for Easter each year for my kids. I try to get creative with how I give them Easter treats, and this year’s edition of that are these Easter Candy Jars!
The best part? Even if you fill these jars with chocolate you can make them for less than $5 each!
How do you make Easter Candy Jars?
Step 1: Gather your supplies.
You will need:
- Plastic Mason Jars (found mine at the dollar store, but you can also get them HERE)
- Easter Candy
- Easter Stuffed Animals (I found cute options for cheap at the dollar store)
- Hot Glue Gun
Step 2: Cut the heads off the stuffed animals.
It pained me to have to do this, but you will need to cut the heads off the stuffed animals.
After you cut the heads off, they will look something like this. Don’t let your kids see you do this because one of two things could happen.
- You scar them for life.
- You give them bad ideas for their own stuffed animals.
Step 3: Glue on a felt circle.
You will need to seal up the bottom of the head so the stuffing doesn’t come loose. Using felt will also ensure it glues well to the lid of the Easter Candy Jar.
Use hot glue to attach the circle of felt to the bottom of the stuffed animal head. Once you’re done it should look like the picture above.
Step 3: Glue the head to the jar.
The longer I write this post, the more morbid it seems. I just have to keep telling myself, this is a toy.
Place a moderate amount of glue onto the top of the lid, and then press on the head. Hold it in place firmly for about 30 seconds to ensure it glues on well.
Step 4: Add candy to the Easter Candy Jar.
Step 5: Attach the lid.
Attach the lid to your Easter Candy Jar and it’s ready to be gifted! You can fill them with just about anything and use any kind of Easter animal like bunnies, chicks, lambs and more!
