Author: Celebrate those tricky words, proud smiles, and well-earned wins with these free printable spelling bee certificates! Whether you’re organizing a homeschool spelling bee or planning a classroom competition, a certificate is a lovely way to give your winner a little extra recognition.
This free download includes three award certificates, with cheerful bee designs for younger children and a more grown-up option for older kids and teens. They’re all together in one handy PDF, so you can choose your favorite and print just the page you need.
A Little Recognition for a Big Achievement
Standing up and spelling a word out loud can take plenty of courage, especially with an audience listening! A spelling bee competition gives kids a chance to put their practice into action, concentrate under pressure, and feel proud of how much they’ve learned.
These certificates are a great way to celebrate spelling bee winners and recognize the work that went into their achievement. You don’t need a big event, either. A friendly competition with your homeschool group, a classroom challenge, or a spelling bee around the kitchen table can become a special occasion with a little celebration at the end.
Three Spelling Bee Certificate Designs
Each certificate has space for the winner’s name, the date, and the person presenting the award. Choose the style that best suits your child or event.
Yellow Homeschool Spelling Bee Winner Certificate
This bright and cheerful design features smiling bees, a golden trophy, flowers, and a big winner banner. The heading reads “Homeschool Spelling Bee Winner,” making it a sweet choice for homeschool families and co-op groups.
It’s especially fun for elementary-aged children who enjoy a colorful certificate they can proudly display on the fridge or tuck into their homeschool portfolio.
Purple Spelling Bee Winner Certificate
With a crowned bee, a stack of books, alphabet tiles, and a purple award ribbon, this design is full of charm. The lavender and mint colors give it a softer look while still feeling celebratory.
This version doesn’t include the word “homeschool,” so it works for classrooms, clubs, library activities, or spelling competitions at home.
Navy and Gold Spelling Bee Champion Certificate
Older kids deserve something that feels a little more grown-up, too! This certificate features a navy and gold border, classic lettering, and a detailed bee illustration.
The “Spelling Bee Champion” heading makes it a lovely choice for middle school students, teens, or anyone who prefers a more traditional award. It feels special without the cartoon decorations.
How to Print Your Certificates
Download the PDF and open it in your usual PDF reader. All three designs are included, with one certificate per page. You can print the entire set or select the page number for your preferred design.
The pages are sized for A4 paper in horizontal landscape orientation. Choose “Fit to page” in your print settings, especially if you’re using US Letter paper, to help keep the decorative borders inside the printable area.
Regular printer paper works well, but it’s even better if you use white cardstock for a sturdier certificate. All three designs have white backgrounds. There isn’t a separate black-and-white version included, but you can select grayscale in your printer settings if you prefer.
Once printed, fill in the winner’s name, date, and the name of the person presenting the award.
Can I Personalize the Certificates?
These are ready-to-print designs rather than editable templates, so you can’t change fonts or replace the existing wording within the PDF.
The blank spaces are ready for handwritten details. If you prefer a typed name, you can use a PDF annotation tool that supports adding your own text over the blank areas before printing.
Make the Presentation Part of the Fun
Take a moment to announce the winner, give them a round of applause, and let them show off their certificate. You could pair it with a new book, a bookmark, or a special pencil for a simple prize.
It’s also lovely to recognize everyone who took part with a few encouraging words. Learning new spellings and having the confidence to try are worth celebrating, whatever the final result!
