If you’re looking for an easy space-themed activity that works for homeschool, classrooms, science units, or just a fun afternoon at home, this printable Solar System Bingo game is a simple one to keep on hand.
Kids get to practice recognizing planets and other familiar space objects while playing a game they already understand. It’s colorful, low-prep, and works well with mixed ages too, especially if you have younger kids joining in with older siblings.
The printable set includes six different bingo boards, so you can play with a small group without everyone having the exact same card, plus a full set of calling cards.

Solar System Bingo
This space bingo game uses a simple 3 x 3 grid, which makes it especially manageable for younger children. Each board has nine different pictures, with no repeats on the same board.
The images included throughout the set are:
- Earth
- Jupiter
- Mars
- Mercury
- Moon
- Neptune
- Pluto
- Rocket
- Saturn
- Sun
- Uranus
- Venus
The bright illustrations make the game easy to follow even for kids who are not reading all the planet names independently yet.

What’s Included in the Printable Pack?
The printable Solar System Bingo pack includes six different bingo boards, each with a different combination of nine space-themed pictures.
You’ll also get a separate page of calling cards featuring all 12 images. Cut these apart and place them face down in a bowl, pile, or small bag ready for the game.
Because there are more calling cards than spaces on each individual bingo board, every round feels a little different.

How to Play Solar System Bingo
Print out one bingo board for each player, then cut apart the calling cards.
Shuffle the calling cards and draw them one at a time. Show the card and call out the name of the planet or space object.
If a player has that picture on their board, they cover it with a marker.
You can use anything you already have around the house, such as buttons, counters, mini pom poms, coins, cereal pieces, or small pieces of scrap paper.
The first person to cover three spaces in a row can call out “Bingo!”
You can play horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
For a slightly longer game, keep going until someone covers the whole board.

Use It With a Solar System Unit Study
This printable fits really easily into a homeschool solar system unit or classroom science lesson.
You could play bingo after learning the names of the planets, or use it as a quick review activity at the end of your lesson.
Before covering each square, ask kids to tell you one fact about the planet that has been called. Older kids could give a more detailed fact, while younger children might simply identify its color, size, or place in the solar system.
It’s an easy way to add some extra science learning without turning the game into another worksheet.
This is a great book to combine with for the solar system theme. This range from DK is just gorgeous!

Model solar systems are also such a great resource, to talk about the different sizes of the planets and how far apart each one is, in a fun and tactile way.

Make the Bingo Cards Reusable
If you think you’ll play more than once, print the pages onto cardstock and laminate them.
You can then use dry erase markers to cross off each picture, or keep using counters on top of the cards.
This is especially useful for homeschool families, classrooms, science centers, co-ops, or siblings who might want to play the game again later.
More Ways to Use the Calling Cards
The calling cards can be used separately from the bingo boards too.
Try using them for simple planet matching, memory games, vocabulary practice, or sorting activities.
You could also ask kids to put the planets in order from the Sun, identify which objects are planets and which are not, or choose one card and research a fun fact about it.
For younger children, simply naming and matching the pictures is great practice.

When to Use This Space Bingo Game
Solar System Bingo works well for all kinds of space-themed learning and activities.
Use it during a solar system unit, astronomy week, homeschool science lesson, classroom science center, space-themed birthday party, rainy day activity, or alongside books about planets and space.
It also makes a quick print-and-go activity when you want something educational without needing to prepare a full lesson.
