This easy slime recipe is the perfect non-sticky option that is so fast to make! And with only 2 ingredients, you may even have what you need already! Make this in any color and with any liquid glue!
We love making things from scratch around here, whether it’s homemade playdough, or this edible magic melting slime! And this easy slime recipe is a family favorite!
Easy Slime Recipe
When my son was young, I tried making slime from all the other recipes that were out there… and he hated them all. They were too wet, too sticky, too stinky from the weird ingredients, or just plain gross feeling.
So I worked hard to find an easy combination that he would enjoy playing with that wasn’t sticky, smelly, or weird!
That was over 7 years ago and this recipe is still his favorite!
Ingredients
With only 2 ingredients and a bit of optional food coloring, you can have the perfect slime in just a few minutes! Get the full printable recipe at the end of this post.
- School Glue – Any type of Elmer’s liquid glue will work. We’ve used plain white glue, glitter glue, and even color-changing glue! It all works perfectly!
- Liquid Starch – You should be able to find this in the grocery store, but in some areas, you may have to get liquid starch online.
- Food Coloring (optional) – While this isn’t required, and depending on the glue you use, you may not want to include this… but you can! When we use glitter glue or the color-changing glue, we omit the food coloring.

- Mix – In a bowl, combine equal parts glue and liquid starch. Mix until combined.
- Knead – Using your hands or the back of a wooden spoon, knead and stretch the dough until it’s no longer sticky.
- Enjoy – Play with your new awesome slime as long as you want!
- Store – Keep the slime in a glass container when you’re not playing with it. It may separate in storage, but you can knead it back together and continue playing!
