How to Make a Popsicle Stick Pencil
Start by painting two popsicle sticks yellow. Set them aside and allow them to dry completely.

Once the paint has dried, carefully cut a diagonal line across the bottom of each stick to create the pointed pencil shape. Glue the two sticks side by side to form the body of the pencil.

Print and cut out the template pieces. Trace them onto the appropriate colors of construction paper and cut them out.

Assemble the pencil pieces following the template. Glue the pink eraser section to the top of the popsicle sticks and add the black band underneath it.

Next, attach the smile to give your pencil a cheerful expression. Cut out your eyes, these are going to make the pencil suddenly come alive.

Glue on the eyes, you can really start to see the personality shining through right?

Cut out the arm templates, and the piece for the end of the pencil where the lead comes out.

Add the arms to each side so your pencil looks like it’s waving hello. How cute!

Finish by attaching the pencil tip to the bottom. Use a marker to add the small graphite point at the very end of the pencil.

Once everything is dry, your happy pencil friend is ready to display!
